Brief Description
Burkina Faso has adopted a National Strategic Plan for the promotion of the elimination of FGM 2016-2020 accompanied by a three-year action plan. The vision of this frame of reference is that by 2020, "Burkina Faso has an environment that protects the rights of girls and women, which ensures them good health, the maintenance of their physical integrity and respect for all their rights”. Ultimately, it aims to reduce the prevalence rate of excision by 20%, particularly for the 0-14 age group.
